    Optical cable reinforcement is an important component of optical cable, generally placed in the center of the optical cable, its role is to support the optical fiber unit or optical fiber bundle, improve the tensile strength of the optical cable. Traditional optical cables use metal reinforcements. FRP non-metallic reinforcement parts are more and more used in various optical cables for their advantages of light weight, high strength, corrosion resistance and long life. GFRP fiber optic cable reinforcement core (glass fiber) is a new type of high performance engineering composite material, which is made by pultrusion process after mixing resin as matrix material and glass fiber as reinforcement material. GFRP non-metallic fiber optic cable reinforcement overcomes the defects of traditional metal fiber optic cable reinforcement, has excellent corrosion resistance, lightning resistance, electromagnetic field interference resistance, high tensile strength, light weight, environmental protection, energy saving and other significant advantages, is widely used in a variety of fiber optic cables.

    GFRP features advantages

    (1) High tensile strength, high modulus, low thermal conductivity, low extension, low expansion, wide temperature range;
    (2) Non-metallic materials are not sensitive to electric shock, suitable for lightning, rain and other climatic environment areas;
    (3) Chemical corrosion resistance, compared with the metal core, GFRP reinforced core will not produce gas caused by the chemical reaction of metal and oil paste and affect the fiber transmission index;
    (4) Compared with the metal core, GFRP reinforced core has the characteristics of high tensile strength, light weight, excellent insulation performance, and no electromagnetic interference;
    (5) The cable with GFRP reinforced core can be installed next to the power line and the power supply device, and will not be interfered by the induced current generated by the power line or the power supply device;
    (6) Smooth surface, stable size, easy processing and laying, wide range of application.
